Antelope Canyon, Arizona

In October 2006, we made a daytrip from Kanab, Utah (where we were staying) to Antelope Canyon in Arizona. Antelope Canyon is a slot canyon, which rests below ground with only a jagged trench visible from the ground. Sort of like being in a dry riverbed. For a few minutes a day, the canyon has beautiful beams of sunlight.

After visiting the canyon, we wandered through BLM lands the rest of the day.

These are pictures from that daytrip.

  • Even though the colors in the canyon were gorgeous, I think black and white really works.

  • This is a curious circular structure we found in the middle of nowhere on BLM land.

  • These were just sitting around. We didn't venture close enough to see if they were occupied.
  • This was the Jeep we rented for our travels through Nevada, Utah and Arizona. Nice car.
